See earlier thread with this title first!

This is the most absurd, ridiculous, mad, crackers, muppeted, stupid, mind blowingly, daft, insane, nonsense and totally barmy thread  I have every read.

The morons who subscribed and commented are pocket talkers at best and totally ignorant of the game and it's values at worst.

He is simply the greatest exponent of a national hunt jockey there has ever ever been - end of.

To suggest his is not trying, gone at the game or anything else similar is just mindless stupidity.

If you can't see this then you need to switch off your computer, pack up and go home!

AP is the best NH jockey I have ever seen or ever will see.  I cannot say much more than that.

McCoy looked like hacking up on Stravita yesterday. It was good for me that he didn't . I was put off backing the horse as it drifted a bit too much for my liking. If the horse was considered to be iffy then  I can understand the market slide. It just looked bad when after looking like trotting up , ( making a slight mistake) it found nil and drifted wide on the track. In hindsight Mc Coy would perhaps have set it alight before two out. Watching the betting in the last two or three minutes before the off generally tells you what is going to happen at the business end. I tend to lay anything that seems to have all the credentials, plus a top jockey, and still drifts.

It has been removed Yorkie. I did see some of the comments on it earlier. Mc Coy cannot win really. I remember him driving one home that was TAILED OFF four out only last year. He was hailed as the messiah then, only to receive a bashing from those who thought he was TOO HARD on the horse in question. He looked like hacking up yesterday so I suppose some were counting their chickens prematurely. He cannot win.

He only has one style

Most over rated jockey of all time .

If he is the best ever , ehy does he have difficulty psesenting horses at hurdles .

Would you rather have mc coy rather than  -  walsh , murphy , choc or geraghty .

Mc coy would never come before the above mentioned for me    NEVER .

unless the beast in question was WICHITA oR INCA

i know wich is dead by the way .

Why is his record so poor in grade 1 chases , if hes the best ????

My only worry when backing McCoy is the simple fact he struggles to see a stride. He is forever meeting the fence, or hurdle on a half stride. I am frantic if I have backed him on a novice chaser, he can be that bad sometimes. Yes his drive is 2nd to none, he generally always gets the best out of a horse, but if he is driving them into the fence or hurdle it sets all his good work back. There is not many jockeys who can be classed as better than him, but there are alot who are much better at getting them to jump.

Its a bit annoying how Mccoy seems to hold up nearly all his winning rides and finish with a flourish these days
Seem to recall in the old days when he was stable jockey to martin pipe he was a jock who rode most of his winners from the front.Get the feeling he likes to play to the gallery a bit as he is the champ and SPOTY etc

bah bah bah AP is so strong bah bah bah hes superman bah bah bah hes the greatest bah bah bah bah bah bah
agree with toby......macoy insists on taking a pull in most races these days, trying to ride like ruby or timmy..but to do that you have to meet hdles spot on, which he isnt capable of doing
all you AP fanatics...go back and watch his rides at towcester on sunday where he was nothing short of POOR
EVEN ON THE FAV HE GOT UP ON IN THE LAST STRIDE

Some of the Grade 1 or Grade a chases McCoy has won include the:

Cheltenham Gold Cup
King George
Queen Mother
RSA
Tingle Creek
Arkle
Powers Gold Cup
Lexus
Ryanair
Victor Chandler
Growise Champion
Melling
Maghull Novices
Scilly Isles
Feltham
Ritz Club
Galway Plate

some of which he has won 2 or 3 times so it kind of puts paid to the claim that his record so poor in grade 1 chases, especially when you consider he's also won 5 Grand Nationals too.
By:
Foetus
When: 07 Jun 12 17:01
Ima Mazed - I think he's won all but about THREE of the grade ones over jumps.
Triumph Hurdle is missing from his roll call and the Hennessey...can't remember the other one Confused
By:
Foetus
When: 07 Jun 12 17:20
I had to cheat...it's the World Hurdle that's the other one missing from the list of long established grade ones.

He's not won a Betfair Chase yet or the Neptune but there haven't been that many renewals of those races, and I'm sure they'll be on his hit-list before he retires.

Nevertheless...considering he has nowhere near the ammunition of Ruby Walsh, it's a fine achievement.
By:
ima_mazed66
When: 07 Jun 12 20:08
It all adds to his CV what you are saying Foetus and can't do his reputation any harm but in fairness the claim was that he had a poor record for grade 1 chases but even that isn't the case anyway.

Very strong jockey by far the best 3 or 4 years ago.Not nearly so good now imo.

When he went to Jonjo he knew exactly how that yard operates and now he rides accordingly when required.

What does that even mean?

I know what it's probably suppose to but can't help get the feeling it's just a way of saying a lot about nothing without too many specifics.

No offence meant personally but there does seem to be quite a lot of that kind of thing on here and usually not with much basis to it and more just said for the sake of it every time one of theirs is beaten.

By:
ima_mazed66
When: 08 Jun 12 20:05
No offence taken toronto44 but understanding it and agreeing that it's the case are two different things.

What I tend to think whenever anyone flags up an apparent dodgy ride is what do they have to gain from it and whatever it is do the benefits outweigh the risks?

I'm not entirely sure which Get Me Out Of Here ride you mean barkinggreville but what specifically do you feel was wrong with it and then just out of interest how would you respond to the questions above in under the circumstances?
By:
toronto44
When: 08 Jun 12 20:26
What stables have to gain from it,is considerable and consistent amounts of easy risk free money by laying. Also getting handicap marks down in order to have huge gambles in big races ie Cheltenham. The wealthiest of the wealthy always want more, world leaders.Russian oligarchs, crime bosses,ex UK Prime ministers etc etc

By:
ima_mazed66
When: 08 Jun 12 21:02
I'm not saying McCoy is or isn't the greatest ever as these things can't really be truly measured but in answer to that table it's probably because Ruby Walsh rides for the top trainer in both England and Ireland.
