He's the worst jockey going. Always manages to get favs beaten.

Surely the trainer must know he's a completely useless and punter just hate him for losing them so much money.
I would guess the trainer said don't have it winning first time out like last season and ruining it's handicap mark

Unfortunately owners like Hamdan Al Maktoum have little or no interest in how his horses do in bog-standard handicaps, this sort of effort is rife with his runners.
Oh yes Sooty, there is an entire department at Shadwell, laying maidens and first time out handicappers ridden by Tadhg on here nearly every day. Major source of income for HH apparently.

Well you might! I am 7 years younger than Sheikh Hamdan and I am sure he remembers Sea Bird. And no, I do not work for his organisation. Know more about it and his horses than you do though

Sooty - I agree. I know more than you about Hamdan's horses.
Just watched it, I had no bet in the race but I suspect some of the jocks may have.
