Totally. Is he even training them? The old Stoute's horses used to turn up to the track as professionals. The one yesterday (Ogden colours) was simply a disgrace.

He's either unwell or something is seriously wrong as his horses don't run like that. David Evans can train beter than him atm!!

No you're absolutely right, with that sort of money at stake there may well be questions asked. However, as we all know price and horses ability have never always produced a positive correlation!

think you're missing my point tbh ralph.

i think they paid  something like half a million too much for this lad...

the mare was nowt special...

the price tag seems rather large to me.

can't really understand why tbh...???

This will be the third year off decline , sad to see and hope it will reverse for the man .

Betting usually slow to capture the top trainer trends , would pay to lay a stoute fav but take chance with outsider as they prob have the same chance at the moment ,

On other hand trainers on the rise like charlton and haggas are going off at decent odds , if stoute had put JOB up on those two  instead of haggas last  sat they would have been almost fav instead of the decent odds they went in at

It always amazes me how slow the markets react to trainers in form and follow past trends regarding sucsess with out of form trainers

Off course SMS has not lost it you don't lose 30odd years of experience i would have thought SHC was a classic example of that, if the ammunition is not there you cant fire it he needs some quality animals, i don't know why they are not there at the moment but they seem an average lot.

I don't believe that he is suddenly a bad trainer but there is definitely a problem at the moment. Just 5 wins from 59 runners on turf this year for a paltry £13,383 in win prize money. In the good times he won that much money most days! You have to look at page 2 of the RP trainer stats to find him alongside Rae Guest and Stuart Kittow. In how many of the UK pattern races has he even fielded a runner never mind winning.

unbelievable to think he doesnt have a oaks or derby horse at all this year.

hopefully sea moon and carlton house can carry him out of the doldrums.

didnt help last year that workforce failed to win after the sandown race.
