quite simply disgrace.A firm that's gone to pieces. An uneducated arselickin clown like Broon shouldn't be allowed within a caber of a microphone.

Correct.

RUK is a shambles tbf capewine.
gone way downhill in recent years imv... i left them months ago and i'm glad i did tbh... |

shame he got the boot from RUK in place of a bloke who reads out i/r prices tbh.

no surprise from a channel that used to be better than atr but is now a shambles and charges £20 per month for the honour of watching ****wits like brown
cancelled last month here no interest in lining his pocket |
By:
well said charnier...
By:
he is by no means the only one btw
non entities like chris dixon (would shat himself if he ever gave an opinion that was not straight from his timeform annual) and the in running bloke who seems a nice enough man but just cant help stating the in running price of every animal ever add nothing to the "service" |
By:
don't think i've ever heard chris dixon have a pop at a jockey tbh...
is he not the guy who always says 'to be fair to...' when a jockey gives one an 'iffy' ride...? |
By:
'to be fair to adam kirby'...rings a bell or 3 tbh...
By:
that is him
the in running bloke criticised somebody the other day (tbf to him) and dixon looked at him as if to say you dont do that on here mate |
By:
sounds about right charnier...
not keen on GUTLESS WONDER's tbh... |
By:
sickening tbh watchit...sickening.

I thought the 'Timeform view' was always espoused by L Hislop.

Thanks for the kind words HH - however just to say I wasn't given the tic tac from RUK! They were always really good to me, encouraging and complimentary which was nice. In the end it just took up too much time away from my punting which has always been my main focus so decided to knock it on the head & I've been full time punting with no sidelines since.
Triple Trig has a point, I'd did rather blaze a trail at times but that was just eagerness to share knowledge and I felt (generally) what I said had merit, least I'd put the hours in beforehand whenever I was on. I understand the frustrations in regards to some of the presenter/pundit combo's, best way to see it is we pay to watch the racing, which is the main thing and just treat the rest as an aside. I really enjoy listening to Mellish and Willoughby, I know James is eccentric but he's unique in his approaches and hence interesting in my book so when those two are on in particular I'm always listening attentively and when some of the other's are on who's opinion I don't value so much I just zone out and zone back in for the races themselves. I know it might smack as defending the establishment a bit but there really are some top people working @ RUK, behind the scenes in the production and they do a very good job - so paying for the subscription is more than just paying those 'front of house' you see every day - that might make it fractionally easier to part with the cash knowing the wealth is being spread to more than just ya man blabbing! ![]() Be lucky chaps. |

Good luck to you.

Agree with Steve and Willow.
By:
keep the door ajar .Very good tactic imo.
By:
i respect you for knocking the punditry on the head and putting food on the table through your punting and punting ALONE studious...
HONOURABLE imv... |
By:
lol cape - no doors ajar! If I was that way intended I'd do a shift every 3 or 4 months to stay in touch just in case, the thought crossed my mind a few years ago but I put my faith in my ability. If the punting went wrong now I'd be too mortified to want anything to do with racing let alone talking about it on the box that's for sure.
HH it's good when it's good and hard when it isn't - my P/L from York this afternoon doesn't make for pleasant reading & I'm really harsh on myself when, for want of better words, I **** things up. Think the main thing is I love it and that's the ingredient that helps to get down to it daily - when I'm hating the game it's because I'm overworking myself and forgetting life exists outside of racing and betting but racing is my passion (was done on that score when my old man took me the track as a 5yo) and touch wood I've been fortunate enough to make it pay for me thus far. I definitely find that the hardest thing - work life balance - I'm 28 and feel like 58 at least twice a week - not good! ![]() |

Used to be £300 watchit but I'd imagine it's gone up rather than down since.
By:
£300 when losing was probably welcome, but when you would be winning more on a bet i can see how it could get to be a pain.
By:
yes Studious...it's a hard game is full-time punting (if you want to make it pay that is)...
good stuff...and i'm glad you shut the door fully. the easy option was to keep the door ajar but you'd have lost your self-respect if you'd have done that imv... at the end of the day if the pro-punting goes awol...just get a job as a pete sampras lookalike somewhere... |

I never thought i'd be saying this but i reckon Gordon Broon has done ok tonight! It's a stretch but i'm training my mind to forget his previous misdemeanours to broadcasting and treating him as a new presenter. Maybe, having more time to cover things in depth that RUK affords makes him look more accomplished than the 'crash bang wallop and here's more ads' coverage of ATR.
By:
oh hang on studious...before you toddle off...
why is it that most pundits are scared to criticise jockeys...? i couldn't sleep at night if i was on the telly and wanted to have a pop at one but i was too scared to do it tbh... |
By:
I've looked into the option HH but due to Pete's very rare public appearance I'd be doing one day a year on about £19.99 an hour - desperate times.
By:
You know the answer to that Hib.

aye...think you're about 20 years too late tbh studious...
