A bad day yesterday, but a win for these mount will get the day off to a flying start.

This horse looks really consistent and has done nothing wrong in his last 3 starts. He was well clear of the rest in 2nd place time out being beaten only by a potentially 140+ rated horse in Oscar Sunset. Oscar Sunset beat a 125 rated horse GodsmeJudge very easily in his previous start and keeps on improving. Harry Topper, who beat Monturgeon in his second last race over hurdles, is now rated 135+.

Course, distance and going will be fine. Will race prominently before kicking on with a half mile to go. Should win very comfortably.

NAP bet for me @ 2.32

This horse does my head in. He's travelled like the most likely winner on at least three separate occasions, but can anyone actually tell me why he didn't go on to win? Not sure if he's a bridle ponce, tripless, or he has some sort of attitude problem.

I'll whack out that ol' cliche in that 'he should win', but do you really want to be piling on a horse at evens with the above questions?

I don't really want to take him on today, so I hope he hacks up for you.

All the best.

There was nothing wrong with his attitude last time. He travelled well, responded to pressure (and kicked well clear of the rest of the field) and was simply outpaced by a classy novice. I think he's perfectly resolute and I don't see anybody good enough to get near him today.

So what price do you believe he should be?
Report tyson1984 May 15, 2012 1:20 PM BST
quite like likearollingstone in this

Can't personally see Monturgeon getting beat either
Report ThunderRoad May 15, 2012 1:27 PM BST
@RyanWe - I would back him from 4/5 upwards - couldn't believe how big he was this morning. If you were to tell me that he was 1/2 I would probably say it was a fair price although certainly not value.

Nothing wrong with him (although surrending the lead was a bit of a poor decision), just was outclassed again.

Notebook horse.
Report denathorn May 15, 2012 1:57 PM BST
Wont win many races, if any, judged by that. Just wanted to run in behind the leader when the pace picked up. One to avoid.

Flatters to deceive if you ask me, well done winners.

Notebook horse! Just has no gears at all. Jockey did everything right and was beaten by another slowcoach. Will struggle to win any races as just doesnt quicken
Report TRD.Racing May 15, 2012 2:07 PM BST
Notebook horse,I assume that is an attempt at humour. If you were being serious I'd pack the game up quickly
Report dave d May 15, 2012 2:07 PM BST
Excited dont think the words bridle and mince are too strong to describe that effort just seemed to give up when the winner went by and on the run in imo  ...
Report MJK May 15, 2012 2:31 PM BST
Apparantely Pantxoa refused to race when he heard who would be riding him. Thornton shoul've packed the game in at the end of the season.
