When punting National hunt racing is it a good time? Is it  better to wait from October onwards for better quality racing in this medium. What do you think?

Good luck today.

As i very rarely bet on the flat, 'summer' jumping is my betting medium through the months. My stakes are severely shortened however..

Thank you for your reply guinness2dear.

Are novice hurdle races worth following over this period?
Report guinness2dear May 15, 2012 12:05 PM BST
Yes, i leave Handicaps alone.

May, generally a good time for me, though the ground changes this year gf-heavy and now heading back to gf is not the usual sequence so expecting some blips.

Novice hurdles I love, for what it's worth Adiynara in the 2.10 Wincanton looks far too big at 4.1. Maybe the favourite is a decent horse but I'm very happy to oppose it having its first run in this country.

3to4 what do you think of the 1.50 Hereford,my thoughts are the fav is shortish as the other 2 in the market look to have as good a chance?? good luck.

my view is he is far too short for one that never wins.................hunter chases thats the game too bet on young man!!!!!!

Yes Barney, Monturgeon should win but is too short to back. I've had a small each way on Parhelion. Billy Merriott has a chance but I never back a last time faller. Midnight Dove ran well last time but may not be trying today.

Midnight Dove ran well last time but may not be trying today. that sums up summer jumping quite nicely,i treat summer jumping the same way as i treat AW in the winter and that is with extreme caution.

The NH is as good but like all racing it has many seasonal influences, just like the turf has and backing three year olds that have not been out for 100s of days is just as difficult a game as backing at the winter start on the NH and big prices are frequent and for the finding in both racing games in respective times of the calender.

watch the 2.40 at wincanton,a perfect example of why you should approach summer jumping with extreme caution
