Need to watch it again but first impression was Mince should have won. Bentley seemed to take an age deciding where to challenge.

Very frustrating. You wait all winter for a horse that you think is well ahead of handicap take and in the hands of an ultra capable trainer then that happens. Secure a decent price early and wait expectantly ......
Bentley very indecisive and three times lost momentum. Wins a minute with even a fraction more luck. Never ridden a horse at racing pace in my life but as in most professions surely 'keep it simple' is best approach. There was an opportunity mid race to switch wide. He decided to go the brave route - fair enough - but fractionally hesitated before the winner lugged across and that was decisive. Make no mistake this is a decent filly, will appreciate better ground and a seventh furlong. Take care Fearless |

Agree with much of what you say except the bit about a 7th furlong. I think she's a sprinter.
