Report ykickamoocow April 27, 2012 11:06 PM BST
in the next race at Plumpton didnt the winner Azulada Bay   hit 900 plus again....i have no pity on ppl whose sole intention is to  lay fallers on track using faster pics.they already had it off with Whitcombe Spirit unseating in same race...they lay dead horses on the ground.....and to the racecourses who facilitate this thievery...u to are pathetic greed driven foolsAngry
Report Jack Bauer '24' April 28, 2012 12:24 AM BST
The people with unmatched back bets at 3.0 or 4.0 already in the system would have got matched at those prices.
Report scaredmoney April 28, 2012 12:29 AM BST
there was a bloke....not sure if its on this thread or another.....he had a back in at 2.1 and got matched at 1000
Report scaredmoney April 28, 2012 12:29 AM BST

Report scaredmoney April 28, 2012 12:32 AM BST
thinking back though,he said he put it in while it was happening and got lucky
Report Jack Bauer '24' April 28, 2012 12:36 AM BST
He happened to submit at just the right moment and got lucky. People with keep bets would have got matched at the price requested, that is how the system works.

The track players laying fallers at 1000 will match  all the unmatched bets in the system right up to 1000, the keep bets only get matched at the submitted price, not 1000.

More to the point, why do bf allow them to mug the customers who really make the exchange work to such an extent they can afford to risk such amounts. It's betfair who are the vermin imo.
Report ykickamoocow April 28, 2012 9:59 AM BST
yip Feck......... U are correct..buts its in Betfairs interest to keep these boys in the game from a commission point of view especially since PC charges were brought in..Betfair are now happy to sit back and see u and me been taken for a ride everyday of the week.....its called THE UNETHICAL EDGE Grin..a term used by many high street bookies when training up its staff....Shocked

i have no issues with lads/lasses on track backing horses to win races in running..its these guys waiting for that favourite to fall..with full liability ready to fire off the second it happens..well there was a few yesterday who were in pain, the same pain a jockey and horse feels when they hit the ground at 30 odd miles an hour..no one should benefit from that..and some of those horses dont ever get up again..blood boils when i see it going on..Angry

Not an original thought Im sure, but ..

have you ever listened to the 'emphasis' a commentator makes? not a lot of use to home punters but what if he had his mobile on.  Or what stops any punter making a phone commentary to his betting buddy? "no.6 has fallen - lay it! ".
It cant be that hard to get the advantage.
Report Lex April 28, 2012 10:21 AM BST
sorry Im missed adding my point (!) which is how can 'track siding' ever be policed

That isn't right, backers get the best available price.  The oncourse player clicked in 1000 to scoop up all the available bets, so 2 got matched at 1000.

Report ykickamoocow April 28, 2012 10:56 AM BST
nothing will be done..nothing ever is..at home players benefited from slower pics yesterday..thats a positive for slow pics..one i never thought i would admit too..well done to those at home players who were matched up to 1000...u deserved it after all the years of thievery...Grin
Report dave1357 April 28, 2012 10:59 AM BST
oops I might be wrong though about unmatched bets.  I can't recall ever getting a better price when the initial bet was unmatched.

dave1357,unmatched bets already in the system are matched at the submitted price and not 1000. One of the major benefits of being a track thief laying fallers is that they get to scoop up all the short priced unmatched back bets when a hot favourite falls towards the end of the race.

Betfair of course get their 40-60% cut in premium tax which is why they don't really want a level playing field as long as the mugs continue to play.

Though not really of direct relevance to this thread, i was at Wolverhampton last week and noticed that "arbers" were conspicuous by their absence, for some reason.
I'm talking about the ones who used to be in the box next to the Press room. Not a one to be seen.

There again, there seemed to be nobody in any of the boxes, so not sure why things were not as per usual there.Confused

I was hoping that the IR players had fd off,but it was probably just a one off.
