Don't know about you lads, but I hate these people on tv because they are in a studio earning a wage talking rubbish about rubbish racing and I am sat here in my sting vest and pants in my bedsit, frittering away my benefits money.
By:
I don't mind the geezer, if we are going to attack muppets on atr there are far more deserving targets i.e the giggling Get In! tits and the hairsprayed Canadian bluffer.
By:
Thanks Watchit, but I think I'll just stick to sitting here and sniping at the people I don't like on TV whilst steadily doing my brains, safe in the knowledge that I would never have the courage to say the same things to their face.

Kelly cannot be criticised as a failed punter/jockey/trainer etc.
All he ever wanted to be was a racing journalist/presenter/pundit and he has the certificates to prove he has studied hard to achieve that. Does he know anything about racing? Pass. Has he laboured at the coalface? No. |
By:
Has plenty of gigs and just runs through RP spotlights in constant monotone......consistently poor but far from the worst this channel has to offer.....fully engaged on the gravy racing train....
By:
Pundits/presenters are not employed because of their knowledge, it's their ability to waffle that counts.
Derek Thompson is the presenters' presenter. Never a pregnant pause. |

another gem from Kelly. River Dragon should be evens, my best bet of the day. After he got beat. He is very small and couldn't carry the weight. You coukdn't make it up

memo to enzo...doncaster sale is TOMORROW mate.

Loper is right. Pundits and presenters are employed on their ability to present and go on about virtually nothing, not for their knowledge. Look at the "pundits" in other sports, especially football. Most of them clueless, but good in front of the cameras.
By:
Maybe I am barking up the wrong tree but I actually think racing pundits ie the side kick to the main presenter should be there solely for their knowledge and even more so given that punting is the overriding factor in horse racing compared to other sports have some attempt at making a profit....these two are just cliches, RP spotlights and NEVER are they critical of any ride....NEVER EVER..
By:
problem is the last person that would be able to tell the difference between the cliched Spotlight-plaguarising noise we get and incisive, original analysis is a tv producer
Kelly is smooth, lightweight Cattermole-type that should be presenting...he's no 'expert'. |
By:
Chris Dixon is another who has turned out to be a massive disappointment.I thought he would be o.k but he is falling over himself to defend bad rides lately. It's so obvious he has been told to look after himself.
By:
is chris dixon the bloke who keeps saying...'i'm not having a go at so and so but...'...?
By:
That's the one Watchit and he defended that Soumillon ride last week.
By:
dixon like most of them showed some early promise, however he has soon realised that to stay on the gravy train it is best to defend at all costs
richmond is about the only one of the newer breed who still hints when he suspects something is wrong, give it another 6 months and he will learn. |
By:
tbf it is money for old rope and a quick look at the payslips at the end of the month (they all have numerous jobs) is a quick reminder DO NOT SAY ANYTHING critical......
By:
as for kelly this is the man who when on betfair radio said he was not part of the gravy train and had never freeloaded in his life
about 6 weeks later he was in dubai for a month presumably all paid for by himself :) |
By:
He was, told it how it was and Dixon couldn't defend the ride quick enough.
By:
They might be able to smile at the payslip but they must get home, look in the mirror and know they have sold out. Can't be a nice feeling.
By:
Love it when they thank themselves after a busy day.....ie read Racing Post..decent lunch....bring up contents of RP and tip up every fav and add in a longshot to cover themselves.....
By:
Thanks 4 your sterling work, that's the expression.
