and mccoy is the most culpable of all.
In interviews all he talked about was copying golden millers exploits.
The man ruined denman and now has cost another gold cup winner his life.
AP in his quest to match ruby's big race winners.
Stick to giving poor animals the mccoy treatment round plumton and fontwell.

You could have just added your views to the "AP killed Synchronised" thread.

...or did your vanity demand a thread all of your own?

I love National Hunt racing and the Red Rum / Crisp Grand National
still the best race I've ever seen. But today just feel upset and sick
by what happened yesterday.  I know where you have livestock you have dead stock
as Henrietta Knight said. And I was only yards away from Best Mate
when he collapsed at Exeter.  But the circumstances yesterday
and was it greed.  Synchronised should never have been there.

It's sad when horses die in races but the whole situation is not helped by idiots like the OP. Please show my sense people. Sychronised's injury was an accident. It could not have been predicted. Hindisght is great too. "Didn't like the look of the first fence", "Gold Cup winner should not be running in the GN". Absolute nonsense. What happened, happened. All a regrettable freak accident.

think you are forgetting that due to hoses involved and the pre race profiles ,hard bitten nh goers are re thinking their attraction to the sport this morning, never mind the usual suspects
Report timeless • April 15, 2012 1:12 PM BST
yeah, I blame them watering hoses too, false ground innit.

The decision to run Synchronised after a very tough looking GC can be criticised because it came from an ownership that has previously expressed the belief that he ran best off of a good break.
NH is a brutal sport whose very nature invites tragic accidents. He went in the full media glare but he could have gone at home on a gallop.
The ethics of exploiting an animals natural talents for our entertainment are alwasy going to be difficult to negotiate. We owe it to the sports stars to question the set-up when they get hurt.

There will be no more devasted people this morning than J.P. Macmanus ,Jonjo O,neil and A.p. Mcoy. I have followed racing for 60 years ,been a stable lad and bookmaker i love racing, yesterday sickened me,but it has always been the same ,horses have been killed in this great race ,over tha last 20 years we lost five horses in the period 1997to 1999,we have lost four this last three years. These wonderful horses are Great warriors doing the ultimate test as steeplechasers,as in all competetive sports great risks are always there and man and beast pay with their lives.
I remember being at Cheltenham to watch Syncronised fly that last fence on his way to a great victory.
His courage and those of all the runers in this and future Grand Nationals will be their legacy, ours will be to say WHAT A PRIVALIGE TO HAVE WITNESSED THEM.

It is posters like this idiot 'Barrycool' that gives this forum a bad name. Why doesn't he/she f u c k off to where he/she may be wanted.
Report ph. • April 15, 2012 1:26 PM BST
he was a racehorse, that was his job and no doubt he enjoyed or like the cleverer types he would have refused to race.He was also bred to race, without sporting breeders he wouldn't have been born or lived. The game and sport is hard, always has been and was even harder before the RSPCA wrapped the sport in as much cotton wool as possible. He was a GC winner chasing a glorious winners double and the cost was the horses life.No doubt a piece of each of the connections is also left behind on the Aintree turf.
