Jockey looked very concerned and ran after him to catch him.

Sadly it seems as though he may have died. so, so unlucky that horse fell right in front of him. Had nowhere to go

After seeing the family and the story it makes it all the more cruel.

Feel very sorry for the poor woman who was crying with nerves before the start.

Feel sick, not usually one for knee jerk reactions but wouldn't bother me one bit if they never run the race again

I bet the beeb are glad to get rid of it. Love my horses but that was devastating. DESTROYED. What a crap word. Goodness me. You watch every fence now and hope there isn't a casualty or worse still a swinging leg. That has really upset me.

I bet that poor woman is in bits like we all are. The gob ****s without any feeling will point out deaths are inevitable but that doesn't help. There are some soul less bastar*s on here. The point is that is not nice to see over and over again. Happens every year and something has to give.SURELY. You cannot put a gloss on that. Putrid.

gutted. said to the mrs before the off really hope it comes back safe, just had a feeling after the feature something like that could happen. they go to quick and are to many runners for my liking. Gutted for the family. so much love and effort will have gone into that horse and will have been such a joy to own. RIP

YEP TOTALLY GUTTED,AS I WOULD IMAGINE CLAIRE BALDING IS AFTER GOING TO DO THE FEATURE ABOUT THE HORSE WHICH SHE SEEMED TO GET QUITE ATTACHED TO,THE ACTUAL RACE IS IRRELEVANT TO ME NOW,ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT IS THE FAMILY AND EVERYONE INVOLVED IN THAT HORSE,VERY UPSETTING.

Yes, Really feel sorry for the poor woman who owned the horse and the rest of her family too. Also for connections of Synchronized, especially AP.

I still have nightmares about poor Grey Sombrero, one of my all time favourites, who broke his leg at the Chair in 1973. I was unfortunate to be nearby when it happened and it was a terrible sight. Never been to GN since.

Utter bollox, if the owners loved and cared for the horses as much as they claimed they wouldn't put their horses through such a race...If I owned a horse it would never get in a mile of Aintree let alone run in the race...owners/trainers are in it for one thing

a very sad affair,

the curse of the media,

like when a commentator says a horse is jumping well and it falls at the next fence !

Why run it in the national? I wouldn't put my pet dog in a pitbull fight.

the anti---horse racing brigade or animal rights said on radio 5-live that owners only care about how much money they can make.

nothing can be further from the true.most owners do it for love of horses an racing.

its costs serious money to keep a horse in training

all the best to all those connected to according to pete
