The last Sandown meeting the fences looked lower than ever, and the horses were just skimming over them, now Haydock has produced the lowest fences I have ever seen there. What are the courses up to?No animal rights replies please,or RSPCA.
i had a conversation on the phone with kirkland tellwright 5 years ago when they did away with the big drop fences and brought in portable ones the first year they were a joke since then they appear a bit stiffer but not like the old days i've never thought sandowns were over stiff cant remember last time i saw a faller at the pond fence none of us want to see fatalities just a true test of national hunt horses ability

boy wonder, the pond was never a stiff fence, but the ones down the back straight, apart from the water, are hardly recognisable.I don't want to see fallers either, but I do want to see true tests of jumping ability at speed.
