My strategy doesn't require a personal tissue , it'd be a waste of my time that's better served studying something far more influential.

Good luck guys   Happy

All you need in this game Grim ( assuming it's you ? ) is a bit of software to save wasting time , good head for maths , market awareness and a developed strategy that will work for reasons you can identify , then it's a full time occupation for anyone that wants it.

Leave your form books in the last millennium and stop the recreational punts and you've cracked it.

Not looked on here much recently but presumably this is your latest forum name Grim ??????

I do, just for  Group Racing.

Convert the ratings into prices

Example____

QE II Rating Price
Frankel 137.5 1.30
Excelebration 124.5 21
Immortal Verse 124 22
**** Turpin 124 22
Cityscape 122.5 29
Rio De La Plata 121 37
Dubawi Gold 118 64
Side Glance 114.5 126
Poet's Voice 114.5 126
Bullet Train 85 4000

Surely there isn't anyone on here that believes "doing a tissue" is a useful experience in all but the very top class races ?
By:

When: 04 Apr 12 19:52
I only do the top class stuff, but if someone had the time to put the research in, it could be done for handicaps etc quite usefully IMO

With Group Racing only need to keep track of about 200 horses who don't run that often

I may be way off the mark but your ratings/odds are very similar to the Russell Clarke/RPR/lbs off top rated method.

Looks as if you adjust the RPR in some way.

If you watch enough racing then they just stand out without tissue imo Marvada vs Up tonight a great example 1.5 vs 10. something unbelievable value. Sadly I went to the pub after work and didn't get home in time to take advantage, but my mates in the bookies texted me to say cheers for the tip! Scant consolation!

Top2, don't know about that

I have made a table for converting the difference in rating to H2H Odds for each horse in the race

So Frankel 13 superior to Excelebration = 1.056 to beat him, and of course shorter odds to beat the rest, which added up to 1.30.

What you mention maybe more sophisticated. The actual ratings are my own opinion.

BTW the example of that race was a bit flattering, as Frankel would have been the bet because i think he was 2/5 . I made plenty of books last year that would look silly in hindsight, so i'm not claiming to be doing great . I think this is a good method for ascertaining Value though and just beed to be more accurate with the ratings which should come with time . Mever had a proper go through a season before but intend to do so this year.

Of course many compiling their own odds will just do it intuitively, without handicapping . Thats ok but i just think you get more consistency this way, and less influenced by what pundits are saying on the day.

Doing tissues is a mug's game. All you need to do is analyze the race in 30 seconds before the off.
