not many improve after leaving John Oxx....GL tho

I hear ya Duncan...But John Oxx trained the horse for this race. Marco Botti´s only been ticking him over for the last month and a bit. And for good measure you only have to look at how well John Oxx´s horses have wintered and started the season. He had a a nice third in a competitive maiden at Leopardstown, then won the Irish Lincoln. And the following day a lovely Filly won a 20 runner maiden first time out.
This thing is for sure a group three horse, and this should be his last appearance in a handicap. But by 3:17 we should have the answer. Good luck!!! BONK |

bonk, why the switch of stable, iyo?
|
|
By:
Runs with his head a bit high for me, especially if u think it needs soft ground. Is it totally straightforward ?
|

By:
Change of Stable and not Owner.
THe switch was for a UK campaign i believe |

Owners werent happy with oxx

Don´t Believe that´s the case gooch.
Tis not the first horse they´ve had with Oxx, and i believe it was simply in the horses best interests. And one of the syndicate are connected to Marco Botti in another forum. In any event, the horse doesnt require this info, so we shouldn´t get tooo hung up on it. Just hoping the ground isn´t like a road, that´s all. Reckon Fanning will time each furlong like an atomic clock, and if he doesnt go gate to post, will never be far off the pace. either leading or tracking the leader. Fingers crossed xxxx. P.s. What did pricewise put up, and anyone know the ground condition from the morning line. No doubt one of those plonkers were out there this morning poking holes in the ground. Am in Spain and searching all by internet. BONK |

31 Mar 12 12:08 THe switch was for a UK campaign i believe That's a feeble excuse, imo, not a reason. Gooch's reason is much more convincing. Is Fat Dodgy around? Cocozza was high on his list of horses to follow last season. Cocozza is out of a Sadler's Wells mare, so perhaps he does need soft ground to be at his best, and is why he didn't live up to expectation last year. |

Ha ha. . . Quite possible. Some nutjobs on this these days. I blocked a few though so not as bad as it was !!!!

Bonk, thats what i was told. The owners spent alot of money on horse whispers and the like after he sat down in the stalls.Going to sales was a smoke screen to take the horse of oxx only.

some market correction going on, last price traded 13.5 now

duncan, and taking on board what the trainer said, YSFC.
Well I do apologise for my generalisation, but in my experience of looking at pedigrees, when SW is close up in the pedigree, they tend more often than not to want some cut in the ground. |

Sadlers Wells has umpteen Group 1 winners on fast ground and, acc. to Racing Post, a better strike rate on g/f than softer..only got a couple of decades evidence tho! who the SFC?

I havent seen the race as am in spain on the mobile. But obviously according to the market, Cocozza drifted like a barge and obviously never put a foot forward. What happened? Didn´t break? Ground to hard? what´s the verdict?
Although the Cheka won nicely, and As suspected Eton Forever never placed. Not too bad on the day so far, although St. Nicholas Abbey should bring the double. Can´t wait to see the race. Any opinions greatly welcomed. B |
