Scottish darts player, twice world champion, immortalised in the hit song by Dexys Midnight Runners.
sad news indeed, fabulous player, fantastic era, jockey, alan evans, john lowe, eric ,
1st won the World darts championship in 1982, blimey 30 years ago, where have those years gone! Probably from the golden era of darts with the likes of Eric Bristow, John Lowe, Leighton Rees etc. You wouldn't have expected any players from that era to have health problems would you! Sad to hear though RIP jockey.
Treble 10 and double 16, out at 62, how prophetic!
just watched the bbc website tribute of his world title win over eric bristow.

Sad to hear , he was my favourite player of the golden era of 80's tv darts.

I once played a few games against him when he was in my town to perform at a club. He came into my local to practice and asked a couple of us to play against him.

He was a recluse because he wanted to be one. Thats fine but it usually means they dont want callers.

all the jocky wilson celebrity fans will pop out the wordwork today handing out superlatives stating how jocky had made an impact on their lives and how he was an inspiration
pity they didn't visit him in the last five years and helped him when he was an alcoholic recluse who lived in a one bedroom flat on a council estate

like howard said,he didnt want publicity and didnt want visitors. surely the celebrities offering their condolensces is not a bad thing
if he can survive till 62 theres hope for all of us,think i ll increase my smoking and drinking - if jockey can do it then so can we.
