The price is gone but McMurrough looks interesting.
From a yard who banged in a couple of handicap winners at Cheltenham this week, I thought there was encouragement in his last run back from a break at Bangor over a trip/track that looked sharp enough. That race was competitive for the track, won by an improver in Big Easy (who got a shocker of a winning ride and should have won comfortably) and a couple in the race have ran very well at Cheltenham this week. Cloudy Spirit (4th) ran 6th in the Grade 2 mares race and Cantlow (11th) finished 3rd in the Pertemps off the same mark he finished down the field at Bangor, so the form of the race looks strong from limited evidence.
McMurrough is now back to a mark of 119 which he last won off at Haydock in 2010, when beating Glenwood Knight, and he is now better off at the weights with that horse here. He outstayed GK that day over 2m 4f so the step up in trip to 3m should be fine and there are no worries with the quicker ground.

Napped this last time out & was pretty friendless in the market, seems to win after he had a run about three weeks earlier so was probably brushing the cobwebs off at Bangor in Feb where he was prominent for a long way, the horse has run well at Ayr before & Newcastle is a similar track, he goes on any ground & now dropped to a class 4 from last time & seems a decent ew bet at the price.
