Heartily sick and tired of Cheltenham pointers, insights and previews for what I reckon is the most difficult meeting for picking winners and making money in the racing calendar. Fine racing, admittedly with numerous great races but as i usually win at Southwell I am gong to concentrate on 2 great AW days at Southwell for Tuesday and Wednesday with the intention of ending the week in profit for a change  instead of a state of depression fearing threatening letters from the bank manager.

Totally agree with you Treetop, used to love cheltenham but totally over hyped these days. Will look forward to your Southwell festival preview night and selections the night before.Grin

Best of luck at your festival treetop.  Not for me though - I won't be having ATR on at all after tomorrow.  I can't wait to get stuck into Chelters - wouldn't miss it for the world.

4 handicaps a claimer and a seller ! Top class racing for Southwell lads, not able to get into the details until this evening but I fully expect to show a profit instead of an overdraft to the missus tomorrow ! Good luck all.

A veritable betfest ,eh eric ? I can see the big3 dashing to sponsor races at the festival when they find it is being shown live on bluetube. Many of our festival trainers have been bringing their horses along slowly (very slowly) to take advantage of attractive handicap marks,I only hope Betfair can provide extra capacity so every punter can get on more easily than George Michael tomorrow !

Got to put my money where my mouth is and have picked out these for tomorrow to cover my stakes at Cheltenham

Caldercrux -----decent chance in an open race, worth an each way
Jo Boy - (nap) Bell's beaten fav last time here in a trappy race
Ring for Baileys---scope to improve but first experience of fibresand so...
Ingleby Arch ---inevitably against this lot
Sandwidth ---c/d form and well drawn in an open sprint race
Jawaab ---- running up to its handicap mark but pace of race is key here
Cloudy Start ---- best of  a bad bunch but saving on Revolving World

Can't anticipate last weeks 5 out of 7 but more confident than I could ever be at Cheltenham of showing a profit

I may have enjoyed it but I also never profited from Cheltenham.  Don't give it  a  second look now.
been gutted about no AW last 2 or  3 daays

That's my point desperate,we only bet to make money and whilst Cheltenham is great racing to watch it is also fiendishly difficult to show a profit at the end of the week. I plan to watch most of the racing with the mute button on this week to spare me the fawning slime that C4 spews out.

the only way at cheltenham is ante post, you should know now if you have any chance of making it pay this week.can't think of any ante post races on the sand.good luck.
