Why did the connections of this poor beast keep running him over fences when he showed no aptitude for the game.What's wrong with running over hurdles,at least it's safer for him and the unlucky mug that has to ride it.Johnson looked like he was hanging on for dear life at every fence.

actually think Rougham was basically a good jumper of both hurdles and fences (he bolted up first time at Wincanton jumping well, and then then jumped well at Newbury the next time, until Dickie tried to put on the floor at the last three), but Dickie never inspired confidence to the horse and the trainers policy of not schooling them much didn't help either.
When you look at how the jumping of Captain Chris, Menorah and Wishful Thinking, to name but three, has fallen apart this season, are you surprised?

Always horrible to see when a horse pays the ultimate price but like I have said before they get treated very well in their racing life, like living in a 5 star hotel compared to the way some horses are treated in this country. rip Rougham.
