gone from the front before and stays further than 6f.

should be winning on those really.

out ridden by the Norblad isnt really something you want on your CV
Report thehappysnapper February 28, 2012 5:01 PM GMT
layers did get a little lucky.

especially as most of them probably laid it at 1/2 or higher, went off 1/3 and got beat because of a poor ride.

now there all out in a bundance thinking there a bit shrewd.

lets behonest it was quick enough to make the running today , no doubt it will turn out to be far better than the winner but these things happens , horses put in below par performances and no doubt thats what happened here, it wasnt jockey error  at all.
Report FELTFAIR February 28, 2012 5:03 PM GMT
Cannot possibly blame the jockey.Horse was clearly outpaced and couldn`t get to the front. Needs further.
Report Arleystation February 28, 2012 5:05 PM GMT
Managed to get to the front at Kempton from the widest draw. That was with Richard Hughes in the plate though.
Report GEORGE.B February 28, 2012 5:06 PM GMT
Given how Traveller's Tales had stuck on over 7f at Salisbury, and the stamina on the dam's side, strange tactics indeed.

Watching that again though, I think FM could have sat in behind the filly and still would have done her for a turn of foot. TT needs 7f / mile at least imo.

Report ilikewavingatbuses February 28, 2012 5:15 PM GMT
its races like that that make it v hard to make this game pay!

there is no such thing as a cert or free money but if u backed THAT fav, u got done by a poor ride and a good ride on the winner. shouldve won. as koo said, make the running, has gone from the front and it had stall 1. if not dont let a horse get 1st run on u, just a half length down on its outside and go by up the straight.

astonishing error. youd think they'd improve riding horses every day but they just make the same mistakes over and over.

Report Angel Gabrial February 28, 2012 5:23 PM GMT
The problem is that the jock was probably told to win it sneaky by a length. If every horse was ridden for its life then things would be much clearer. Koo knows this.

Rides like that are the reason you need a betting bank and never back anymore than a very very small percentage of that bank in any one bet.

Hopefully you will get more good rides than bad ones
Report stridingedge February 28, 2012 6:42 PM GMT
can't agree with it being a poor ride

this horse has been outgunned now over 7f 2/3 times.

was showing signs of being niggled to keep tabs even from half way and could not match the acceleration of the winner at a vital time before finishing to good effect when the winner was coming to the end of it's tether.

i'm not sure that pushing and shoving early (which is what the jock would have had to do to make the running at the winners fractions) would have resulted in the horse finishing so well.

i'll watch the race again later but on first impressions there was no jockey error here.

it amazes me on here that every fast finisher that would have got up with a few extra yards is treated as a bad ride, sometimes it is but often the horse is struggling at the trip to stay close enough to the pace.
