There will be vigil heard for Dickie @ both main In Running offices in London.
Already talk that the layers amongst the fraternity might have to turn their attentions to backing through the months of April - November now the one they worship is hanging up his boots.... No longer can you stick a bag up at evens when he's edging ahead a furlong out and instantly go to make a cuppa knowing the days wages will be secured over the next 13/14 seconds. A sad day. ![]()

I can see now Richard has retired Micheal Hills following suit soon enough. There wouldnt be much between them age wise I'd guess as they look very similar & cant see Micheal hanging around too long as they also appear good pals

... maybe when we look back, Rich did inherit Barringtons ability to make money from the sport !

Plenty on this forum seem to give R Hills a hard time but he has had a fantastic career.
Bad jockeys dont win 6 classics imo, nuff said The 1999 World Cup win on Almutawakel was one of several winners at the highest level for Hills, with his first being for then-boss Tom Jones on Ashal in the 1990 Ascot Gold Cup. The Derby was the only British Classic Hills failed to win as he triumphed in the 1,000 Guineas three times [Harayir, Lahan and Ghanaati], the 2,000 Guineas [Haafhd], Oaks [Eswarah] and St Leger [Mutafaweq].
