Sanctuaire runs today in the 2.40 at Taunton this afternoon.This is his first attempt over the big obstacles....at one time this would have been a formality but (and its a BIG but) will he even start? Is he being sent chasing as a last "throw of the dice"?.....at nearly 6/4 he is tempting but backing him must carry a "health warning"....comments please.

add in a couple of dodgy jumps and ruby is not going to risk injury just before cheltenham.
Couldnt play or lay....ultra tricky customer who looked very much out of love of the game LTO..Taunton can be a decent test with the fences down the back quite upright and a downhill approach to the 1st in the straight catching horses out...fwiw the outsiders might be worth a play on the spreads...for all that looking forward to the race as a horse rated 150 over hurdles going over fences should..
At the price and against the tripe he's up against today I'd rather be a backer than a layer but I think he's probably best watched. I was considering putting him in a couple of small multiples based around Nicholls other Taunton runners but I'd like to see his temperament going down to post and lining up before I risked owt on him.

I have just been matched £76.50/£45..very much a token bet.Feel that if I didnt bet him and he wins by a distance I would be quite upset. Checking my records Taunton is a 1mile 2 furlong left handed oval track and the fences should hold no fears to Sanctuaire. I have convinced myself that if he gets off to a level start he will win.
Hasnt found much at the end of its races.....and its attitude is questionable....

if it jumps away and jumps the first 2 fences ok. it will drop in price quickly regarding if it wins not sure but certainly would not like to be a layer. NO BET

On hurdle ratings there is no doubt he has a ton in hand...
but the horse has issues, unless a switch to fences changes this I cant see him winning...no matter how good he is/was.GL

well i was right about his odds dropping after 2 fences lets now see if hes gud enough
I backed this one at 17/10 for £45 this morning. After that performance "looking a gift horse in the mouth" very much comes to mind.If only ......
