Thanks for the final update for race 14 Reged.  Very well done to NMR a most worthy winner of the Gold Medal.  Well done to pumphol the Silver Medal winner and GAVBEN the Bronze Medal winner who made it a great race.  Once again a big thank you to Reged who is Steward, Clerk of the Scales, starter and flagman rolled into one.  You do a great job Reged keeping track of all the lays and producing the very informative tables on a daily basis - your efforts are very much appreciated.  Roll on Friday.

I knew my selection went down soon after the race but have only just got in to see the final result.
No complaints whatsoever, my first selection nearly two weeks ago  traded at 1.02 in running so have been quite shocked to get this far.
Many many thanks for an excellently run comp & will be chancing my arm again come Friday.

Thanks fellas. Yeah Reged you should hold an inquiry into how a 6.4 shot ran like a 100? For most of that race I was only focused on my back in the contest. Bad luck Pumphol we both rode our luck (my selections friday and yesterday being an example) but we'll see how I do if the ground ever dries up as that will be interesting, but another story for another day.

I'll of course weigh out for Friday so see you all then, once again WD my fellow placers, 35 in the contest so a lot of bookies would pay 5 places so Pumphol, Gavben, Cooper & Zipper very well played, oh and cheers again to the boss.

Why a new thread? I explained earlier in the comp that the top post that everyone sees when they open the thread is very misleading - I have already had to disqualify two newbies who went by it and didn't realise the rules had changed. So to avoid confusion, a new thread. Summat soecial planned? Yes, I disqualify everyone after four rounds and win every race! Apart from that nothing much!

My rules would be  any race 1st or second fav when you post  that would sort the men from  the boys   ok the comp would not last long  .. but it would  show a nice profit  and when the winner takes the gold  ..well start again. all this dragging it out with 7/1 shots  anyone can pick them .

Interesting post from zip,it is true some lays are short price favs and others drift out to long odds.

Interesting but it has itys own disadvantages, plus all our records from Jan onwards would be up the spout. Anyone wants to do a diff comp along those lines, feel free. But this one stays as it is

plenty of people find it difficult enough laying 7 and under - and the REAL test is being able to dop it consistently over a long stretch. For me that's enuf to sort the men from the boys.

If you had to lower the price,say to under 4/1,it would be like shooting fish in a barrel. I doubt that the conp would last no more than a week.At 6/1 it is lasting upto 2 weeks,giving a little more of an interest.I do believe, in our case that it is hard, even under the present rule.The results show us how difficult it is.So lets not knock the rules too much.

The true test of the comp will be how many keep taking parft - if the numbers drift away, then it might be time for a change

Sourestar here are the facts a punter lays at say 8/1
he has 22 straight lays   wins 22 points  the record in this comp 
next 3 lays win at 8/1 == 24 points lost  he has had  22 out of 25 lays  a 88% strike rate and lost  2 points .. whats the point thats why i only lay  the first 3 in the betting   up to say 4/1 ..get  the drift ..
ive seen madness on here  punters laying at 77/1 in running
do you know at 77/1  you must never be wrong to win  not much

Zipper the odds we have been working on has been the BF sp and not the sp at posting? and that is the main reason we end up in the red. I can remember when KC picked a nag at 6s.It ended up winning at 25/1 or there abouts.Hence the short fall.

Soursstar  you are 100% right  this comp any comp  laying  at B/F  prices cannot show a profit  why  give you an example  last night a horse won at 12 /1 S/P  .....the horse was 6.30 Heartsong  29.1 on here
Ask any bookie  to lay at betfair s/p  any horse any race  and  clear off will do
