Will your other user name be staying ?

Don't have another username, and not sure why one would suggest that? I have used Betfair for years, only ever viewed the forum but this event has hit the headlines big time and it begs only one question.
Why a cover up if honest mistake? Raises too many questions about bots? About betfairs credit policy's? About betfairs software? Corruption somewhere if it's been covered up, how many times has this happened before on a smaller scale? |

Poor fishing here.
|

Call it fishing if you like guys, I rather think a first post it shows the seriousness of the issue. Well for you guys that are happy to continue betting if you are big money customers. Lots of people lost out here and not just the ones who took the "obviously" incorrect 29/1. Plenty of other trading occurred on other horses and everyone's a loser, except bf of course. It's your money at the end of the day and smart gamblers try and keep the edge on their side as much as possible. There's no Betfair "community" or allegiance in any form of gambling when money's involved.

Absolutely right, %ages.
Many people lost money on the race who wouldn't have done but for the "glitch". People who had no bet or involvement with the winner. These people are out of pocket. This has been virtually unmentioned throughout the whole fiasco. Betfair have lost credibility, but no money, and have shown once again how little they care about the most important aspect of their business.... the customers. The site, the forum, the trust, the people running the company. All are now so far down in the estimation of so many that it's doubtful they'll ever recover. |

No smart punter will leave betfair and all it gives over a one off event that even at the time was clearly an error.
You show me a punter who leaves betfair because of this and I will show you a fool. |
|
By:
No smart punter will leave betfair . But they might have a look at alternatives and do deals elsewhere . Confidence is the issue .
|
|
By:
Don't you just love when a forumite claims to do other peoples thinking for them.
Punters will play where they get the best deal, and Percentages1,it is still on this exchange. The glitch DIDN'T affect many players, and was an unfortunate event, forget it ,it's history. Those, like myself(11 years),that have been using Betfair for a long time, know it is still a brilliant way to bet.A lot of the flak has come from newbies and attention seekers. |

I don't suppose a single Betfair user will give up on the site.

Coding glitch caused mythical money to appear on exchange , explanation has been given , anyone who has left will be back very quickly because the alternative is tripe . HTH.

I have NEVE|R seen so many posts from usernames from 2001 on this subject all week. Who are these posters? Do they all work for BetLiar? The funny thing everyone of them is backing BetLIAR on this topic. It's not hard to answer

Coding glitch caused mythical money to appear on exchange , explanation has been given , anyone who has left will be back very quickly because the alternative is tripe . HTH. Anyone who has left will not be back imo, this company is despised by so many now after a shocking decline in the last few years. I would suggest to try the other place bob but expect you are on the payroll of betfair - as so many others who have just started posting on this forum. |

They are all on double time today. They were out in force last night also.

Anyone who leaves betfair over this is a fool. That is certain.

I don't post often and didn't have a bet in the race but would expect to be paid if i did.
Its an exchange and if something is put up in running and taken theres no need for anything further to happen apart from the event to run its course and the bets be settled, irrespective if the odds are 1.01 or 1000 and of the amounts matched. I think they have handled it very badly and have lost a lot of credibility but its not so much a surprise as it would have been a few years ago as its going the way of most companies when they expand, its all about the bottom line. I'd be surprised if they don't lose customers over this. Just my opinion and everyones entitled to their own. Hopefully this will go through the courts and we will get more transparency. |

Strange sense of logic over this incident, especially by those that weren't involved.IF you didn't play on the race, what difference did it make. All the supposing this and supposing that is just stupid.
I can honestly say that I have been with Betfair since the very early days when they had small premises and just a few staff(before I had a computer, all telephone business), and have transacted some hefty amounts over the years and NEVER had a single problem, and always found the staff extremely helpful. That is a big plus in this technological age . Many are conveniently forgetting the pre exchange days, that is wrong. There is enough to worry about in life without worrying about maybe's and what ifs. This exchange is still excellent, and I cannot see any reason whatsoever for customers to"leave in droves". |
|
By:
The guys were asking about people posting who had been members since 2001, and that they all seemed to be favouring the exchange, thats why I posted though I dont have to justify it as like i said im entitled to my opinion like everyone else.

so you have had 1 opinion on 1 subject in 11 years,
, get off the fence your arse must be killing you, ![]() |

It does seem a remarkable coincidence that the 2001 posters are out in force. I thought I was one of the early ones and I'm 2002. So these people must be employees - except for you gdk - unless you're double bluffing!

Just checked and I'm 2001 as well - sorry about that.
