If horses are purposely rode to lesser place for handicapping or other reasons

It would be great to see a true champion.

Do you imagine  - for a single second - that any of the dross that daily runs around the All-Weather tracks, performing your highlighted 'function' ....

Will EVER sire another horse - in order to further breed.

Yeah I'm not talking about AW but in general. Do we not value a fair competition and find the best horse. Is there not glory and honour in the purity, or is money all the matters.

I actually think racing is more or less straight at the highest level. There is too much money involved to pull high quality horses ( the sort of males that are going to stud ).

But, Mouse - 99% of Stallions come from Group Races - as do any "Champions" -
- and there are NO Handicap races within Group races.

So, with regard to your concern about the bred - The 'playing the handicap system' is not really applicable.

We know what your saying - It's just that both entities do NOT go 'hand in hand'.

I think you will find that one of the biggest proponents of 'furthering the pedigree' and trying to, "find the best horse," .....

Is Mr Magnier's Coolmore operation - where, many would say .. "money IS all that matters."

If it is as important as you say then why does it go on? Not every genetically superior horse will come from the best pedigree, and may take some time to come into form, and if at a lower level race there is a potential champion who has been kept back for whatever reason, it's just a dark cloud over the whole thing wouldn't you say.

Apple seeds are each unique. You could plant every apple seed from every apple you ever ate but until the tree grows and you find out the kind of apple it produces you wouldn't know if it's the next "Laxton's Epicure" or a sour crab apple.

It will NOT be, "kept back for whatever reason"

That doesn't happen.

Sheikh Mo changed the name of his future CHAMPION to Dubai Millennium before it ever ran.

I know they have a fair idea of what the horse is capable of before it starts the race. But yet, it appears in the lower level races the best horse is kept back.
