A lot of races looking strange like this one bilbo
I do think the whip rule is having an effect |

Looked that way to me too .
Racing has been plunged into a totally unnecessary maelstrom of confusion and uncertainty by a cabal of nincompoops . |

You could actually see how hesitant Sam was to whip the horse in the last 100 yards? The first crack nearly had him upsides and then it was a case of "i ain't getting a ban". Anyone who continues to bet with these new rules must be mad.

Nigel Twiston-Davies believes Sybarite could be the long-term replacement for his work companion Imperial Commander.
The trainer thinks a great deal of his gelding, who completed a racecourse gallop with the Gold Cup winner at Kempton last Saturday. Sybarite has performed respectably against strong competition this season and will head to Cheltenham himself for the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle. "We like him. He's going to go three miles for the Albert Bartlett. He has run two miles and five furlongs so I don't think the trip will be a problem. If someone grabbed my arm and said 'what's your next Imperial Commander?' it would be Sybarite at the moment," said Twiston-Davies. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Difficult to know what would have happened with different whip rules. It would have been a much more exiting race that is for certain and it would have been ding dong to the line. As it was it was obvious which one was going to win from well before the last imo.
