Yes. it won last time but a couple of things about that race:-
a) Two were out of the race very early on, including a decent Twiston-Davies runner. b) The first four home were all in with a shout coming to the last. c) Approaching the last Jackie and the third were battling it out though the former gave the impression that she wasn't going to be keen to go past. d) As it happened the other horse's hind legs went on landing and it was lucky not to fall. This left the race on a plate for Jackie's Solitaire but I'm not convinced she would have won had it not been for this incident. e) She was carrying nearly a stone less than the other runners. Today's race includes several runners and a newcomer that will, I suspect, prove too good for Jackie. Good luck Dirty Berty 100-30. |

The race that Jackie won was a bit strange as it was the one where the commentator announced that the favourite had fallen at the first and took a while to correct himself.
Then Red Riverman almost took Reveley's mount(3rd)out at the first bend before crashing out at the third obstacle. Approaching the second last a couple of those in with a shout lost momentum with not very fluent jumps and the horse that finished second was almost upsides after the last because Jackie was slow to pick up and because the runner-up had been up with the lead for a long way he ran out of gas on the run-in. I notice that Jackie's Solitaire is attracting some money but it's still a massive lay in my book. |
