Shane Byrne hit his horse 9 times (great ride in fairness). How is this right?

yes drives me mad and they keep prize money without even trying to stick to the rules. wonder if perhaps should be a dead heat rule if this happens.

Not a bad call Hushwing. If the BHA think that owners and trainers won't 'look after' jockeys that lose their fee and % of prize money when they win but break the rules in doing so then they are on another planet. Its impossible to police. For what its worth I think Shane Byrne gave that horse a fantastic ride. But the way the current rules are framed and enforced is a joke and making the sport a laughing stock quite frankly.

The rules are wrong - blame the BHA , not the jocks. It was a brilliant ride from Shane.

yes just bring in the dead heat rule on perhaps a temp basis to let the rules get established.
eventually the jocks will realise its not worth getting bans for after few stints on the sidelines.
