Here's a cunning plan.

When I'm overs on a long-term market let me "cash in" some of my winnings.

Example

Say I had been laying all horses in the Grand National 2012. By Christmas I might be overs for £100. Any new additions to the
market will immediately be winners for me, because I'm a layer. So, why not allow me to "cash in", say, £90; place a lien against
the market on my account; charge me 5% commission and carry on?

Advantages to Betfair
1. Frees up liquidity for use in other markets
2. Triggers a commission payment immediately

As an insurance policy against void races, acts of god etc. you could offer to buy my position.
You could charge me, say, 8% commission instead of 5% - with the insurance premium set for each
market to reflect the likelihood of a disaster.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush Delts. You're not telling me that you wouldn't
rather have your money than letting it languish in BF's client account?
