Shocked

Sky news has just said

"we'll have coverage in and around the Jackson trial".  WTF?  an aging pop-star (of most dubious behaviour), stuffed full of drugs finally dies.... and that's more important than the EU ref. debate!

doomed. we're all doomed....

wont be a referendum, sleaze ball Cameron will  see to it that no one dare vote against him. some will, but only those that dont see themselves ever advancing through the Tory ranks.

Don't take it as gospel yeahyeah (would hate you to miss it!) but I think I heard someone on TV say that the debate was due to start at 16:30 with the vote at 22:00.

Whatever happens the one thing that strikes fear in the hearts of the European tyrants is the word vote,a good chance the British would vote for the independance thay used to have so cant be allowed. All is not lost because here in Ireland we were allowed vote, rejected the infamous Lisbon treaty but were just ignored, bamboozled into voting until we got it right, now that we are in they are sticking the boot in,unlike the British who have genuinely helped us,we are beginning to realise who are real friends are.
Sad that a country who bailed out France in two world wars is now subjugated by that dreadful country without those cowards having fired a shot.

They charged usury rates, the U.K. helped us.It also was their banks that caused the trouble by their reckless loaning policy, the E.C.B want Ireland to pay for all their losses.
The best analogy i can give is,were the Bank of America to go bang would it be fair to ask the people of South Carolina to pay for it because thats where its based.

Ted Heath, conned the people of this country.
Told everyone who would listen, that it was just a 'Common Market', for free and easier trading.
Nothing to do with Politics, Finance, Laws & Regulations, and all the rest of the garbage that has been heaped upon us, by mainly unelected  officials, that we can not get rid of.
I voted NO, in 1975, and will vote NO, if I could today.

Agree not alone were ye conned but when they got ye in they fleeced you.Britain has contributed billions to the E.U.along with Germany while France were receiving money.Ireland received huge amounts of money also but they nicked our fishing waters, the most under fished in the world,so we lost too.
The E.U. hate Britain and its traditions, they cannot do anything about the English language because it is almost universal but the magnificent weights and measures system must be destroyed at all costs and as a racing man it will always be furlongs miles pounds and ounces for me.

You see, it is instances like this that give me hope that Cameron could be a good leader, despite being a Tory.  He has the good sense to do what is the right thing, rather than pander to his far-right and fellow-traveller far right types as on this thread.

And as for wmfb, it was yourselves who got your country into the ghastly mess it is in now, YFSC, nobody else.  Duncan is correct - they are at least trying to save you from yourselves.  If they charge "usury rates" then that is usually the going rate for a financial risk.

And your crisis revolves around the Euro - at no point is Britain joining, at no point would Britain have ever joined, and the feeble attempt by the "w0gs begin at Calais" loonies in the Tory part to force a referendum attempts to jumble participation in the EU with being part of the disaster that is the single currency.

Not only that, but the Loonies attempt to split the "pro" vote by offering 2 alternatives for those broadly in favour yet just the one for those against.

Which race does EU Referendum run in, please?

Or is this another instance of the dismal Daily Mule-reading OP to somehow not spot the forum somewhere beneath Dancing On Ice 2011 that is designed to cater for this kind of thing?

The pound has crashed against both the dollar and the euro. I wish my money had been in euros pre-crash. When you consider the pressure the euro has been under it shows how badly our economy is being managed.

Tolstoy the I.M.F. and the E.U. bailed us out not because they liked us,the I.M.F. because thats what they do,the E.U. because they wanted to save the Euro,we have no connection with the I.M.F and we are supposed to be in the E.U.yet the I.M.F. cut us a much fairer deal, thats why i said they put the boot in.After all this the U.K. offered us help with no strings attached showing us who are real friends are.
The E.U. is dominated by France and Germany and are no friends of either Ireland or the U.K. its all self interest some in England recognise that but there is a sad aspect that in modern England there is a self loathing epitomised by Tolstoy that will always go against your national interest.Your education system suppresses English tradition and culture and promotes inferior cultures leading to this constant sneering at your history and this is self perpetuating.
