4/1 BAR to write for the Racing Post...There was a coup for Bangor-on-Dee racecourse last season when the local trainer Donald McCain agreed to write an informative weekly blog detailing his runners' chances. But McCain has now signed up to provide his thoughts solely to the Betfair website and, although still contributing to the Bangor site, the juicier stuff seems sure to be kept for his new clients.
That means there is another name out of the race to become the new star columnist of the Racing Post, with Nicky Henderson having informed the Post that he is not intending to write for them again. With Alan King already signed up for the Weekender, it still remains to be seen who will be joining the team at the Post in the weeks ahead. Guardian.co.uk
