The Whip rule is ridiculous, Ruby Walsh rode a fantastic race to win the race yet got a 5 day ban. Ruby's ride was what horse racing is all about yet the stewards immediately took the shine off his fantastic ride and gave him a ban. if these rules are still in place come next years Cheltenham festival then the sport will die

Shock horror as jockey who breaks the rules is banned.

Not an offense to try - an offense to cheat.

As you say sonnyboyx22, it's NOW an offence to try and win a race. Until these new rules and subsequent modifications were introduced earlier in the month, there were NO whip rules in place at all and NO jockeys ever picked up bans because of mis-using the whip - FACT.
