was an excellent presentation of the current problem(s); TBH it continued to go round in circles like so many other programmes, debates etc but then the  real issue surfaced in the '90th minute!'
kevin darley mentioned the fact that "the competitiveness is being taken out of race-riding!" because they are needing to count as against using experience and instinctiveness and skills.
This needs to be addressed and driven home; as for KD and the PJA being "weak!" in the words of jamie spencer that's unfair, not to mention priceless, coming from a close friend of the real senior steward, BARNEY CURLEY.
last week someone mentioned that racing looks to have become anaesthtetized and now I'm able to appreciate why, competitiveness is being compromised.
when adrenalin and excitement makes for throughbreds competing (and they do!) only to have jockeys' needing to be careful, the objective of winning is indeed compromised; don't you think horse wont sense that a jockey is 'easing down?'
as for the RSPCA representatives saying "the public is concerned!" that's untruthful, a few do-gooders they mean and they don't count, neither does the welfare group which is made up of very sad people.
yield to the mobs and it's the beginning of the end and, the way things are, it's nigh!
