but no animal involved and the 'public perception' of motor
racing is that its a dangerous game so no harm done.

If horses were trained to drive the cars it would be a different matter         Devil

salmons answer is better than mine, but isn't it due to the fact that those drivers had a choice as to why the public think that way?

No idea who the 2 drivers are in all honesty but i'm well aware of the whip issues in horse racing , probably due to the fact i've no interest in motor racing but love horse racing & this is after all a horse racing forum.

Don't know whether there's a motor car forum but if there is i'm sure there'll be some sympathy posted & with no mention of Ruby Walsh.

The issue is drivers enter motor racing knowing it is dangerous.
It the tracks or cars were faulty there would be uproar.
Otherwise it is driver error and they took the risk.

Horses are raced and whipped and it is assumed they have no choice.
I do not know enough about horses to know how they behave if they are being hurt.
Will they not run? Will they throw the rider? Will they run off to the stables.

This incident is said to be the horse avoid the whip.

I like a comment made on Sportinglife website

"and the non existent new racegoers can carry on shopping ."
