Dear Stewards

The whip rules are all to do with public perception, so please make sure that when the public don't perceive anything wrong with a jockeys ride, that you bring it to their attention.

Please inform the public that even though they thought the jockey had given the horse a great ride, in your opinion he "abused" the horse with the whip and so you are banning him for this serious crime against animal welfare.

We wouldn't want the public perceiving that racing was looking after horses so please take every chance you get to let the public know that jockeys are still "abusing" horses.

The animal rights people probably wouldn't have spotted this "abuse" so please make sure they are aware of it so that they can use it against us in future.

Thanks in advance for your continuing stupidity.

The BHA Anti Racing Wing.

Everyone in 'racing' seems to accept that if you want to get more people to "come racing" you have to change public perception about the sport and its participants. FFS in the last couple of years 'racing' has spent bucket loads trying to change the way the sport is perceived.

Now all of a sudden, public perception either doesn't exist or doesn't matter! It's feckin' priceless.

If all these crowds are up then why is the levy down??

Maybe these "New Customers" are there for the concerts

As long as they dont mind racing for threepence then thats fine....
