dredvers David Redvers To make this clear. Any jockey that strikes over the whip now will not ride for Pearl Bloodstock again. This has gone on long enough. 3 hours ago Favorite Retweet Reply
"Unless we have some sensible whip rules reinstated, Pearl Bloodstock will be removing all their horses to countries where the racing authorities do not act like a bunch of clueless namby pamby, wishy-washy liberals, who pander to minority groups by imposing flawed whip rules against the will of the majority within the sport." IMO
Oi Redvers, it wasn't the jockeys who introduced the new rules 6 days before ya employer's big day.
Alternatively, you could retain your own jockey, pay him well and tell him not to use the whip under any circumstances.
Why didn't he say - "Unless we have some sensible whip rules reinstated, Pearl Bloodstock will be removing all their horses to countries where the racing authorities do not act like a bunch of clueless namby pamby, wishy-washy liberals, who pander to
Mr Jim McGrath TO Ger Lyons DR should be helping, not bullying. Big Mac's an irrelevance.

This is the main reason why i am losing sympathy for them.
On one hand they have animal rights groups basically accusing them of abusing animals. Then you have their Governing body actually agreeing with these groups by introducing restrictions. And to top all that, they have the PJA not standing up to either of the afore mentioned.
I wonder if any jock has actually contemplated legal action against any of them ?

Incidentally is this the same Redvers who has a criminal conviction for disorderly conduct when acting illegally to protect his right to tear little creatures apart with hounds ?

Must be a decent chappie. Married to the daughter of a 9th Bt. I think we are talking about the olde gentree of England. Stand to attention at the back there Especially if you are a jockey-serf.

some interesting comments on the forum that means more than any other in horse-racing, notwithstanding some childish contributors. as for redvers, what does the saying 'don't throw stones when you live in a glass house!' mean?

I happen to know David Redvers and I don't know where this silver spoon idea comes from. He has taken advantage of his lucky break with Pearl Bloodstock after building up a successful stud at Tweenhills. As for his protest in parliament, that was a bit rash but 90% of those supporting the jockeys protest will also be pro hunting! I still think that the jockeys should calm down and learn to ride to the rules.

Well his father though not a peer has a mention in Burke`s. As I said his wife IS the daughter of a baronet. Go on sageform surprise me and tell me he didn`t go to a leading public school.

SS, No idea which school he went to and why is that an issue? Would your view of him change radically if he went to a local comprehensive and if so why? The only people who have no protection from the laws on prejudice are "public" school boys (and I am not one myself) I know him through racehorse breeding when my brother and I had a mare and did a foal share with him back in the late 90's. I didn't think to ask where he went to school any more than I would ask you.

It was you who said you had no idea where the silver spoon idea came from. I pointed out there were certain clues publicly available about his background. I agree ultimately it doesn`t matter whether he went to Eton or Brick St Comp. The thread is about him looking an arrogant pr*ck given his tweet last night.

No idea about that either as a general statement but he did tell me to keep backing Lady Rebecca, the horse that put him on the map. I suspect he may have backed her a few times.

perhaps investigation into some of his deals, namely frederick engels, would be interesting. I'd have to take a mars rapper off if he sold me one before being convinced it was chocolate! 'silver spoon' is a well-founded description, given where most of us have come from.

that seems pretty free from ambiguity to me, elise!

DR came across very well, even admitted he'd made a poor call running FE again; commendable. respect him for coming on and explaining his position/stance. made several good points and is obviously thinking of horse-racing, like wot all of us are. good.
