That was a clear breach of the rules, go and do the job that you are being paid to do.

I am pretty sure jockeys are self employed.
Report VECTIS • October 22, 2011 5:17 PM BST
Agreed, pushing there luck with the public.
Report jmdc • October 22, 2011 5:17 PM BST
He will ride in Ireland BB and fingers up to us!
Report Barton Bank • October 22, 2011 5:19 PM BST
Self employed or not, they rely on owners to pay them to ride.
Report Latalomne • October 22, 2011 5:19 PM BST
It's certainly keeping racing in the public gaze....  Plain
Report Rider • October 22, 2011 5:19 PM BST
if richard hughes is back riding then everything must be ok
Report Ibrahima Sonko • October 22, 2011 5:19 PM BST
maybe their owners support them ???
Report bilbobaggins • October 22, 2011 5:20 PM BST
What a ridiculous thread - I don't know what you do for a job but if you were suddenly greeted by some arbitrary rules which hindered you doing your job I bet you'd be feeling exactly the same.
Report zebadei • October 22, 2011 5:21 PM BST
Sounds like a rather right wing thread imo.
Report VECTIS • October 22, 2011 5:21 PM BST
And if through arbitration i`d had 99% of my complaints sorted i`d be more than happy to carry on,trying to bully the BHA now.
Report egner • October 22, 2011 5:22 PM BST
bilbo...they are happy...they are not...some are happy..some are not....

we would like this...but not that....oh thanks meeting this request but know we would like this to happen...

they shpuld get their f***** act together and then they may seem a little more credible ijn their demands.!!!!!
Report Rider • October 22, 2011 5:24 PM BST
its not helped by the media grovelling to them all the time
Report zebadei • October 22, 2011 5:24 PM BST
egner i think thats more or less what they said to the slaves before willberforce got involved.
Report revedesivola • October 22, 2011 5:24 PM BST
how long was rupert banned for?
Report egner • October 22, 2011 5:25 PM BST
zeb...comparing these guys to the slaves situation is way way off the mark and bordering on offensive.
Report flyingbolt • October 22, 2011 5:27 PM BST
I haven't seen a jockey yet who is happy with the "revisions" so further conflixt was inevitable.
Report duncan idaho • October 22, 2011 5:28 PM BST
Hughes and Walsh have thought they can carry on like before and have come unstuck....their problem imo
Report Ibrahima Sonko • October 22, 2011 5:28 PM BST
Indeed fb

2nd time this week the horse ive back has finished 2nd to a horse where the jockey has broken the whip rules. will this even itself out over the year, or do you just have to follow certain jockeys who are willing to whip that extra time?
Report flyingbolt • October 22, 2011 5:29 PM BST
Bloody 'ell, egner.
Didn't realise you took anything seriously !
Report zebadei • October 22, 2011 5:29 PM BST
egner wishing that the new rules stay because it suits your in running stratagey is bordering on selfish.
Report Latalomne • October 22, 2011 5:33 PM BST
The only way these rules will ever work is if breaking them leads to a disqualification.  Until then, it's a license to print for any yard having a go at one.
Report egner • October 22, 2011 5:33 PM BST
OMFG.....you think thats why i want the new rules and would prefer the whip to banned..

gfys
Report zebadei • October 22, 2011 5:35 PM BST
did not know you wanted the whip banned - and don't have a hissy fit with me laddie!
Report Barton Bank • October 22, 2011 5:37 PM BST
Taking organised action is one thing, staying in the weighing room because one of the leading jockeys has been banned is another.
Report egner • October 22, 2011 5:37 PM BST
dont call me laddie you utter ****
Report duncan idaho • October 22, 2011 5:39 PM BST
steady on, fellas....tis only a silly whip debate
Report zebadei • October 22, 2011 5:39 PM BST
egner ...laddie laddie laddie

Agree barton - i guess theyre cheesed off .
Report LuckyLucan • October 22, 2011 5:42 PM BST
and like demc10, I had one yesterday that was beaten into second by a jockey who received a ban.

Very frustrating, until I read that my jockey had also over-stepped the rules!

Swings and roundabouts guys.
Report mac99 • October 22, 2011 5:42 PM BST
Any sympathy or thought for the Jockey on the second who was beaten only a nose  and as far as I know kept to the rules ??...can that be fair?
I had no betting  interest in the race
