Mccoy at least 10 slaps down the neck and 4 backhanders

they will change rules tomorrow morning

Cant help thinking under the old rules he'd have got that up to win.

slaps down the neck don't count!

I have already expected the back handers to be a grey area and think one time the stewards will give a ban and another time they won't.  Not sure now with all the issues on this subject.  In my opinion you'd be hard pressed to say a back hander could inflict physical pain.

He was issuing back handers on it's front and rear.

You can feel McCoy is constrained by these rules and yes I think you're right - 2 weeks ago he would have won on that.

A hit is defined where a rider hits the horse whilst their hand is not on the reins, regardless of how, where, or with what force the whip is used

gj, what they need are really long reins so they dont need to let go when hitting them behind the saddle

It beggars belief that the NH jockeys agreed to the maximum eight whip rule. It will need to be reviewed in a few weeks time, further embarassment for the PJA and BHA.

good idea until your on the buckle end after a big open ditch!!
