I think the current writers for the broadsheets are among the best ever and we are lucky to have them. Chris Cook, Greg Wood, Alan Lee and Chris McGrath are really quite exceptional compared in their analysis and reporting of the sport. Pity about the writerts on the Post who seem very average.
Regretfully, the RP people so often seem to be "half gagged", by their masters who have to pander to bookmaker advertising. The good ship "GRAVY TRAIN", must not be rocked.
Agreed.Alan Lee is my favourite of all time.Regretfully, the RP people so often seem to be "half gagged", by their masters who have to pander to bookmaker advertising. The good ship "GRAVY TRAIN", must not be rocked.
Guardian did well with the whip story this week. Got Jim Crowley to hit one of their writers with a whip as hard as he does a horse and it did not hurt.

I don't get the Alan Lee support. His views seem to change with each article, especially on all weather racing and betfair. And his constant cheerleading for rfc is too much.

24th may article his view was racing would be better off without low grade racing and betting exchanges. You can go all in a later piece will be about low grade racing being the bread and butter of the sport and one on how great an invention betting eschanges are after one of them has put on a big day of racing.
