OTS, whipped to lung bursting tired? You don't think that's cruel.
Here's a post I made on another thread regarding the whip not hurting. Even if it doesn't hurt them they run faster because they're afraid of it. Why are they afraid of it? Probably because they're hit with the real mccoy at home to instill that fear. As I said on another thread, if you had a pack of wolves run alongside them behind a glass screen none of the horses would be hurt but they'd run faster as they'd be in a state of fear and panic. It's only a matter of time before we'll see another drop dead after they've responded beyond their limit because they don't understand the wolves (sorry "feather duster") can't harm them. |
By:
Feck, are you insinuating that horses are stupid? Do you really believe that statement of yours 100%, I always had you down as a little better than that.
By:
What is it you see as incorrect tiger?
By:
It sounds as though you have a problem with the horse being hit at home, when on the gallops perhaps? As you put it, being hit with the real McCoy? Is that right? Horses are never forced to 'burst a gut' on the gallops as we all know, but if your problem is what happens to the horse at home then please say so and it then becomes a totally separate issue.
By:
Don't see how it's a separate issue.
Assuming the whip doesn't hurt, do you think it would be possible to train a horse not to react to a whip? |
By:
I've only ever watched horses on the gallops a couple of times and must admit to never have seen the whip used on those occasions, I'm sure of course that it is used at home. But if you are insinuating that the horses are treated differently at home and abused by a heavy whip, then perhaps its time that rules were put in place so that only one type of whip can be used whether at home or on the course? There would have to be 'spot gallop checks' of course to enforce this, but it could be a way forward.

By:
I hit my friends horse at his stable today and asked the horse if it hurt?
His reply -Neigh. I take it that means no |
By:
Agreed tiger.

By:
Whipping about to start now....bring it on !!
By:
Well how did it go?
By:
Perry Groves was the man dishing out the 'whipping' and he didnt hang back either, a strapping bloke and ex footballer. Parry to his credit barely moved and admitted that he hardly felt a thing.
The doom and gloom mongers and Animal Rights people will not be amused, but I'm sure that they will think of some excuse. Well done Mike 'Porky'Parry for putting himself through this. |
By:
He took the whipping on his palm of his hand and on his backside !! Kinky sod..lol
