alain went to the same public school as myself though he was a prefect in an upper form and he often used to beat me with a plimsole.

I have to admit though, he was very polite when administering my punishment.

In fact he used to thank me afterwards.

Having said that, I do appreciate the fact that it's a fate that awaits many people in this Country, sadly. possibly including myself.

Only recently I witnessed a home-carer calling on a near neighbour and she spent exactly five minutes there before rushing off to her next visit.

My neighbour is then left fending for herself for the next eight hours until the night carer arrives.

All the while the Social Services are being charged by these care agencies for probably a 'half-hour' visit at exorbitant rates.

And people wonder what is wrong with Care in the Comminity.

My Lord the Labour Government of 45 brought in measures that made this country the envy

of the democratic world, sadly all governments since have subsequently betrayed future generations

by bad practice. We now have a situations where people without private means are left to end

their days like dogs. Very sad but true I recently witnessed it 1st hand.

Two years ago I myself witnessed  a loved one left too long on an IVF drip in hospital with none of the medical staff measuring fluid output to the point where her tissue and lungs were saturated to excess and she suffered a most painful ending, memories of which still haunt me.

I could sue but it will never be adequate compensation for my loss.
