This delay by the BHA is simply that, a delay. They know if their decision is not to your satisfaction on Friday you will not strike on Saturday or Sunday. Can you not see they are taking the P1ss?

France Galop has said they will uphold the suspension of Soumillon but the jockeys have said, unequivocably, they would strike immediately should these rules be imposed upon them. And I believe them.

It is time you stood up for our 'sport' and your profession. Show some backbone ffs.

Five days to get in touch with all the parties who contributed to the first review.

Less than five days then for those parties to then convene a meeting of their members.

Less than five days for them to analyse and evaluate all of the evidence gleaned during the past week.

Even less time for them to then respond and give feedback.

Are the BHA seriously thinking that less than a week into the rule change with even less time to consider whether the changes have met their objectives has been satisfactory or not just seems to be delving into fantasy land?

What credibility will they have if they now change the rules based on such a minimal bedding-in period?

If they change the penalties, fair enough but if they alter the number of hits then it brings into total disrepute the scientific nature of the whole exercise and proves that someone just came up with an arbitrary figure as to what was best for the horse and public opinion. Shameful.

which is exactly why they should reinstate the old rules, go back to their brainstorming sessions and come back in 10 months with a new proposal - where they have actually consulted with people on the living planet, preferably in the industry that they claim to be governing rather than ice cream vendors.

Yes Lucky. Obviously some no-name trying to make a name  for themselves. I don't think with all of the controversy and bans they need to wait to see if this is working. They should be able to act immediately. If they need more time then they should revert to the old system as of today, because it was working far better than the new one, and take more time and consultation with both UK and World groups to come up with a system that works for everyone. With the racing getting more global the UK racing authority is in the perfect position to take a lead.

Will they? Don't hold your breath.

everything in modern society is reactive, nobody wants to be proactive because in general thats unpopular and the person that does it is seldom in the same position when the benefits are seen
