backing this long odds-on favourite Soulard in a three runner race considering it has yet to win over hurdles and the amateur jockey has yet to have a winner under rules?

The second favourite's girl jockey has even less experience and also lacks a winner whereas the most experienced of the three Tom David is on the seemingly no-hoper.

Could we be in for an almighty shock?

apologies reve, you are of course correct, Exeter it should be.

However, at the forecast odds the favourite could very well start off at Newton Abbot and still win at Exeter.

Laugh tis true. the 2nd fav is a 71 rated towcester specialist and veteran. soulard has 44lb better ratting. unless it falls i cant see it beat. 2/13 for a jump around special? if i had 100k that was lying around i would think hard

One in 9 horses that race over obstacles fall or pull up injured is I think the statistic. So you would want 1.15 on here to back one to get round on its own. I would rather back an even money shot for a place on the flat if I wanted to add 10% to a big sum of money.

that stat is for all horses, 100/1 shots and shambolic jumpers included. fences too id imagine. this horse is over hurdles and seems a sound jumper. i wouldnt reccomend borrowing to bet it, but if the monies was lying around...
