Ha, didn't notice they'd finally pulled the trigger with that one.
6/5 FAV, they must have been pretty sure. Aren't they clever! |

He caught the eye at Salisbury, not getting a clear run along the inner before going on well without being knocked about. The handicapper was kind enough to drop him a couple of pounds for it.

the fact that Baker employs this clown to ride his horses and pull a stroke like this same as sticking 2 fingers up to anyone who wants to uphold integrity in racing.
And the BHA spend multi-millions on a whole dept looking out for this type of skulduggery? |

there's a very amusing paragraph referring to this gamble on the trainer's blog today.

A busy weekend. The highlight being the impressive win of True To Form at Wolverhampton. Who has been plagued with foot problems through the summer. And who has taken a very long time to come to hand. Thankfully, in Iraj Parvizi, we have a patient and understanding owner....
"12/1 into 6/5". Allegedly. Not quite sure how much 12/1 there was available. Freefall.... |

From the BHA website:
Windsor, 2 May 2011 William Buick, the rider of SILVERGLAS (IRE) unplaced, reported the the gelding was unsuited by the good to firm ground. Tony Culhane, the rider of TRUE TO FORM (IRE) unplaced, reported that the gelding moved poorly throughout. So are the trainer and jockey in breach of the jockey club rules to provide explanations for poor or unusual performances? The trainer says the horse has had foot problems all summer? Yet there was no report by the jockey or trainer on three subsequent starts to Windsor and prior to Wolverhampton? The Wolverhammpton stewards on Saturday also failed to ask for an explanation in the improvement in form? Where was the stipendiary in all this, surely he must have thought it worth a question? |
|
By:
this is why we need an independent off course panel of race watchers so that the stewards can continue their little racecourse parties uninterrupted.
|
|
By:
did they enquire into the performance of the paper favourite Yourinthewill? Too much hassle to be aware of the formbook the stewards...
|
|
By:
Wolverhampton, 15 October, 2011
Silvestre De Sousa, the rider of ILLUSTRATION (IRE), unplaced, reported that the colt reared at the start. Kelly Harrison, the rider of LE REVEUR, unplaced, reported that the gelding moved poorly throughout. Billy Cray, the rider of ROYAL PREMIUM, unplaced, reported that the horse ran too freely. Total sum of all reports form Wolverhampton on Saturday evening. The stewards did not enquire into the performance of a single horse. |

it's a joke. It's the same in Ireland though. Its all way too laid back. The only option is to wait till the cheats get on and bet accordingly..

How do you know when they are betting Roger?
There are enough arbers, traders, bookmakers all muddying the waters on the exchanges, I find it difficult to tell the difference. The mechanism reporting the prices from the track to the shops is acknowledged to be corrupt by the course books on here and continues to send fictitious shortening of prices suggesting a gamble taking place, when you only to have check the exchanges to see that nothing of the sort is happening. And even if you wait until the off, to make sure that the graph is heading only downwards indicating an actual gamble, would you be prepared to back a horse like True TO Form at 6/5? |
|
By:
i put my bet on in the morning, the form horse, Yourinthewill 5/2, at least if i waited a few hours to see what way the market was going, I could have saved meself a few bob. It's a start, and it's probably the best way to approach the Class 6 stuff.

declared tomorrow for a 10f handicap at Brighton.
And entered in a 12f lady riders hcap at Newbury on Sat and a 12f claimer at Wolverhampton on Saturday. Yet there are some who say it was obvious he was going to win last week due to the drop in trip? So should we be laying / backing him this week? |
|
By:
have to go through t he opposition/form the way you normally do the night before.
|
|
By:
why do you get the feeling that connections won't even have to check the opposition to know what is going to happen to this horse?
