JOHN HALEWOOD, owner of 2004 Grand National hero Amberleigh House, died suddenly onSaturday at the age of 64.
Halewood, a hugely successful businessman whose firm Halewood International is Britain's largest independent drinks distributor turning over in excess of £250 million per year, is understood to have passed away in his sleep at his Cheshire home.
He owned a number of horses with northern trainers but enjoyed his biggest success when Amberleigh House gave legendary trainer Ginger McCain, who died last month, a fourth National success at Aintree.
