Yourinthewill 1.59.13 23rd Sept 2011
True To Form 1.59.86 last night. That's the disgrace in this episode. 5/2 morning fav out to 5/1. |

Is Baker still under investigation for running that ex-flapper at Wolves?
Have the turrds at the BHA ever got round to solving that "mystery?" |
|
By:
Alain, wasnt Baker once a Chum of a member of the BHA,or he had something to do with the BHA,i cant quite remember, but there is a connection there somewhere
|
|
By:
You are 100% correct,OTS.
He is well connected, hence the lack of action by the authorities. |

The one last night wouldn't have started much shorter at its peak with Prescott. When horses like Pertemps Network & True To Form are gambled on as if they're back to their best, why doesn't the handicapper put them up accordingly instead of in dribs and drabs. The same goes for Prescott 3 duck eggers. The handicapping system should be rewarding consistency and penalising inconsistency instead of the other way round.

Thank you for confirming my suspicion alain,
it's quite sickening really, but then,it would be rather folly of me to expect anything else |

there were a lot of well-backed horses won today though.
El Dececy Larwood Rafeej Blazing Field Tegan.... |
|
By:
El Decey & Tegan were particularly bad considering recent runs.
|
|
By:
El Dececy shortened up on morning, before being heavily laid near the off on here,LTO.

Went to Bath today after taking 8/1 Tegan this morning, and it was a very strong tip all day. An ultra-consistent horse with just one bad run, for which there was a genuine excuse, and runs on its merits every time.
Cannot see how a horse with that amazing win ratio can go off at that price. What is the gripe here by forumites? |

I posted the below in my own topic, I just dont understand what all the fuss is about
Hopefully this next lay selection will continue my winning run Lay Yourinthewill Wolverhampton 18:00 I have spotted a few things that give me confidence with this lay True To Form is likely to go off Fav and run a big race and if you can't see why I will explain it to you True To Form ran at this venue Friday September 17 2010 Wolverhampton 19:50 over the same trip as this evenings race, on that occasion he was trained by Mark Prescott He made virtually all, driven 2f out, ridden clear final furlong, comfortably opened 4/5 touched 4/5 £400-£500 (x9) £800-£1100 (x2) Won 4/6 Fav True To Form carried 9-5 lbs and the race was run in a Winning Time: 1m 59.21s This evening True To Form runs off 9-10 lbs True To Form ran 1 more race for the Mark Prescott stable and was a disappointing 7/4 Fav True To Form then joined the G Baker stable and was run in one hurdles race before running and disappointing in 4 races over further distances than this evening He returns here this evening carrying a weight that going by my calculations gives him the beating of my Lay selection Yourinthewill has run 2nd over Course and Distance in a Winning Time: 1m 58.98s + 0.75 of a length behind the Winner Yourinthewill carried 8-13 lbs in his above race he carries 9-6lbs this evening Going on form alone, IMO Yourinthewill has it all to do this evening If things dont work out as I see them - I have 3 other horses running for me Lay Yourinthewill Wolverhampton 18:00 All the best if you follow |

Let's face it . if we owned a moderate horse we'd be plotting to do just the same , well I would anyway.

Even ignoring Tegan's last run (10th of 10 btn 19.5 L at Kempton) you'd have been hard pressed to make it anything like a 4/1 shot. Timeform had it rated 7th best 7 lb behind the top rated and my ratings agreed. As for True To Form (6th top rated with tf), as I said it wouldn't have started much shorter at its peak with Prescott. Had those horses (and El Dececy) started at odds in keeping with recent form and won there would be nothing to see. It's the unshakable confidence that they're going to leave recent form behind that shows the game up for what it is. Because the odd outsider sussed out what was going down doesn't make it any less b3nt. Or do those who were mugged on previous runs not count?

inono, do you think that True To Form ran to his best/on merit on 4 previous starts when ran over 10-12f?
And if yes, what do you make of his 10f entry at Brighton on Thursday. Is this a trip he just can't win over and should be duly laid? |

My lay selection was Yourinthewill In my post above you will see - "He returns here this evening carrying a weight that going by my calculations gives him the beating of my Lay selection" Should True To Form have performed better in his previous races I would have been even more confident in my lay selection Regarding "what do you make of his 10f entry at Brighton on Thursday" I will be taking no part and am not interested |

By:
inono, not having a dig at you personally, more the training of True To Form.
Anyone who knows anything about racing is aware of what transpired on Sat night with this horse and punters have to accept it as part of the game. Does that make it right? As someone pointed out earlier, weren't the backers of True To Form in previous races effectively defrauded by the trainer and jockey, especially when you read the racing post commentaries on how that horse was ridden on previous occasions? |

For my twopenneth:-
The shortening of odds in the morning is becoming nothing short of criminal, how can the odds contract 25% on the volume that's traded. I would be well unhappy if one I had been getting ready was cut so much before race time, that I may change the plan. The whole point of trainer skill is readying a lower class horse for a punt for the owner. The whole point of a punter is to work out when it will be the day that it's on. Distance, h'cap mark, going, trainer and course are just some of the variables that go into a decision to play or pass. That's what does it for me anyhow. |

Getting horses ready for a gamble has always been part of racing. What is now also part of the game, is connections stealing other peoples money by laying them in the races they are not trying in(most of their races). This in any other walk of life would be clamped down on for what it is,fraud and theft. But in racing those with power and a corrupt media just ignore it or stick their own noses in the trough and join in.
