or was it overshadowed by BHA stupidity?

was the racing great or were there still some jockeys afraid to ride a finish?

I must say I watched a few races yesterday in the pub and even though I never had a bet on horses, there did seem to be some interesting racing at Ascot and Cheltenham.

whether qipco will want anymore to do with british racing after the shambles of this week remains to be seen, but I have to admit that although I thought the champions day meeting would be a waste of time, it turned out to be a top class event, ruined only by yet another needless whip ban.

let's hope that by the time next year's champion's meeting rolls around the present BHA incumbents will have been replaced by people with the welfare of racing at heart.

Best days Flat racing I have been to for years. There was a great atmosphere around the place. Obviously the weather and the performance of Frankel gave the event every chance but you cannot help but say it worked. May be a bigger challenge next year if it is pouring down and a Frankel less day but yesterday was a great success in my opinion. The crowd really seemed to embrace the day and made it fun.

Maybe it would be more appropriately sponsored by Whipco ...

Agreed .
At the Breeders Cup they build to a climav with the biggest race at the end -maybe it should be the same here .....send the crowd away buzzing  instead of an early scurry for the exits.

I expect Frankel will be back next year to win the Champion Stakes.

Fantastic days racing at Ascot, 1 of the best this season.
Got lucky with the weather for the time of year, it sounds like they intend 2 move it 2 mid/early Sept next season?
Apart from the dumb ass whip rule in the Champ Stks, it was great.
