Thought it was as good, if not better, than some of the other top international flat meetings around the world.

A meeting like the Dubai World Cup has a more international flavour but certainly not the top class pound for pound quality of Champions Day imo. Really liked how it worked imo.

I also like how it didnt have all the flowery pap associated with the Royal Meeting.

Would just like to see a couple more things added to make it truly epic:

All the races to have GROUP 1 Status...I think that would be pretty sweet. These races are high quality enough.

move a couple of the Juvenile races over to the card to really beef it up.

ooooh and 1 more thing...Now OUR RACES are worth some money why dont we mugg off the rest of the world now. Lets make a couple of the races earlier in the season WIN AND YOU'RE IN!!!!!

And even crazier idea to further develop the meeting could be to have Grade 1 Hurdle race / Bumper too. Its almost Jumps times so why not!!!!!

Looking forward to it next year.

Must have been a success, because if wasn't the stuck-in-the-past brigade who plague this sport would , by now , have really been letting us know otherwise.

i enjoyed it elg but like you i would like to see some 2yo,i also think the card should open with the sprint and we need 7 races not 5 plus that poor handicap.

The unseasonably fine weather helped. A mudbath would have seen many of yesterday's stars remaining in their stable.

Thought it worked and really enjoyed it but agree needs the races to be Grp 1's.

The Champion Stakes on paper was a very strong field unlike some runnings of the old race.

montjeu v kalanisi was the last strong champion stakes.

as ramruna says different weather could have meant things been very different,as from 2013 the fixture will be held a bit earlier, anyway going by the last few years who can say when we will get the best weather nowadays.
