Has only been allowed in the last few years , a difficult one to answer , quality of the race compromised to placate breeders.

They would surely only have done it if they thought he'd be no better than listed/Gr 3 class
Can't have made that much difference, looking at his early form he doesn't seem to have been a problem horse, consistent in 10k listed type races. They must have just thought he'd never be any better than that Must regret it now |

not got a problem with it....he's a horse, it's a race, what's the problem?

The problem i suppose some might have is that 'black type' races , particulary Group 1s, are meant to identify those that will improve or at least maintain the quality of the breed, which this one won't be contributing towards

Not sure how the breed gets improved by colts not having to beat the best geldings around [smiley:crazy]

gelding doesn't improve all horses but it can settle a horse who regularly has his mind on other things.
I think there are a few G1 races where geldings are not allowed, mainly because of the breeding side of things. |
