Check that you are transfering to and from the correct wallets...you need to transfere from your Aus wallet to your Main wallet.

you have to supply betfair with documents / details, they call it KYC

either email them or have a look in the help section about what you need to provide

Why do I need to verify my identity before I can withdraw funds from my Australian wallet?
Betfair was granted an Australian licence in February 2006. Under the terms of this licence, money wagered on Australian markets must be held by Betfair in Australia.

As of August 2006, Betfair has introduced “wallets”, which are separate pools of money that you use to bet on either Australian or non-Australian markets. By creating wallets, Betfair is able to hold funds in Australia with which you can use to bet on Australian markets.

As part of being compliant with the Australian regulatory environment, we are required to validate the name and address details provided by you on your account. This will enable you to continue betting on Australian markets through your Australian wallet.

We recommend that you complete this identity validation process (KYC) as soon as possible to avoid restrictions on using your Australian wallet. These restrictions include:

• You will only be allowed to deposit a maximum of AUD$500 per month (or the equivalent in the currency on your account) for a 3 month period after funding the wallet.

• You will not be able to transfer any funds out of the Australian wallet. This includes the transfer of funds from your Australian wallet to another Betfair wallet.

• Your Australian wallet will be suspended after 3 months if the account has not been identity checked, and the funds will be frozen in the account.

• If you fail to verify your identity within 12 months of the date you first transferred funds into the Australian wallet, your Australian wallet funds are required to be sent to the Tasmanian Department of Treasury and Finance as unclaimed monies. You can claim back your unclaimed monies from the Department of Treasury and Finance by emailing them at unclaimed.money@treasury.tas.gov.au and completing their claim process.

Yeh just seen this now, seems such a long process for clicking a wrong button. Bit of a joke really :( ah well

maybe you'd already done it, banking etc

i know a few people who've been caught out, i don't think betfair should allow you to transfer in until you have done kyc, stops you getting the cash stuck for a few days, they don't make it clear to people imo

what you mean ive already done it?? ive done these checks on poker sites etc...maybe that would have counted? :S

Craig

Are still being denied?
Report elise • October 15, 2011 12:36 AM BST
pain if you're a small player but at least you can deposit a few quid to your main balance and pull the aus back next week
Report craig_09 • October 15, 2011 12:37 AM BST
yes i emailed betfair early this morning, still no reply! i cant remember sending documents when opening my account but was a few years back now! seems pretty stupid but i guess il send them in if i have to, have a large amount of money in there , obv by accident
Report elise • October 15, 2011 12:37 AM BST
sorry craig, i was talking to angel about having already done it when he was saying he'd never had to

Craig

Unfortunate if you wanted to slap it all on Frankel. Anyway Elise knows more about this and appologies for underestimating your common sense.

this should be a final check,

if you click on  "my account"

then click on "my profile"

across top of your personal details it would say "there are no restrictions on access to your australian wallet and your discount rate " if you have supplied the correct docs
Report craig_09 • October 15, 2011 12:45 AM BST
yeh says i need to supply documents. Oh Well, still lumping Frankel in an accum.

Frankel: 2/5
So you think: 5/2
Middlesbrough to beat Millwall: 5/6
Man city to beat Villa: 4/11

£100 returns £1193.

Thanks for help guys, this bet is in return. It shouldnt be a loser :)
Report elise • October 15, 2011 12:48 AM BST
i'm a city fan, if i back them they lose so i won't jinx your bet

you do not neccessarily have to supply docs - you see if you live in uk, they can run a URU check, basically an address / age verification based on your details, this is automatic but if you fail (say moved in last few months / uni residency etc) then docs will be required. Most books use this and it is a good system to prevent having to send in docs for new accounts.

What you should do if you have this problem is ring helpdesk and ask for this to be done and someone will do it for you quite quickly and thus it is an electronic kyc.
