Maybe i'm old school, but the last 3 weeks have been completely topsy-turvy because of the creation of this new meeting, and I feel it has ruined the sport. The Cambridgeshire run in September! The Ces 2 weeks early. Two Group 1 colts 2 year old races, Middle Park and Dewhurst, ran on the same day, and following each other in the programme. The QE11 3 weeks late, the Champions Stakes now run on a round course, and the Fillies Mile and Royal Lodge now run on a straight course. Comparing past champions to the present crop, has now got a whole lot harder, and tradition has once again gone out of the window. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Most people would agree, but tell that to the PR 'gurus' who think that tampering with a product that has stood the test of time for decades is the way to get people interested in racing...

I think there are a lot of things that need 2 be done 2 make our great sport of horse racing better. At this moment in time the urgent thing is 2 get these new whip rules sorted out ASAP, before it causes more mahem.
As to the New Champions day at Ascot, we must welcome with open arms any big new sponsorship into the sport. Tadition is a great thing and we must try 2 keep as much of it in racing, but we must also move with the times and try 2 make it even better, which the powers at be have failed 2 do with alot of aspects of this great sport. I`am really looking forward 2 the big meeting 2moro and expect some fantastic races, with Stars like Frankel and co strutting there stuff Lets hope we are ALL talking about the great races and indiviual performances of our racing stars 2moro and not these ill thought out whip rules.
